In a society digitally conected but disconnected with the near surroundings, a lot of spontaneaus movements appear to reclaim physical contact with people and whith urban environment. To reinfoce these connections we build this urban “mediator” called “el abrazo”. This is designed as a simple gesture that generates spaces around the body to experiment intimacy with others within the city. It is built as a double skin; an exterior one frequently used in construction for insulating buildings (ACTIS membrane) and a soft tactile one directly in contact with our body. The idea is to use an architectural material with high technical performances (it keeps us warm, it is resistent and light) and bring it closer to the body to reinforce the idea of building a gap between Fashion and Architecture.
